Members

Members are people who are interested in DaLaa and motivated to help our organization. They are more involved in DaLaa than volunteers: they are registered and willing to help the organization with all kind of things. This can be done in Thailand, but there are also members in foreign countries.

Why do we need members?

• To get more people with the same motivation:
  become a big team.
• To get a strong organization / a big network.
• To get more people involved in our organization.

What is MaD (Making a Difference)?
Since 2006 some organizers together with some active members started MaD. MaD is the name of our Member magazine. It appears 3 times a year. Inside you will find information about DaLaa activities, interviews and articles relating to volunteering. Some articles will be in Thai and some in English.

What members can do
Some members want to support DaLaa and receive the magazine, but they don’t have (a lot of) time to play an active role. It’s good to have their support and to know that they care about voluntary work and DaLaa. Others have more time and they also help DaLaa with organizing activities (like: seminars; weekend work camps; writing for MaD; helping
with translating; and so on).
Activities that can be done by active members living abroad are:

• Promote DaLaa (at universities) 
• Visit sending organizations in your country and
  introduce DaLaa
• Be a contact person for new volunteers in your country
• Give us ideas for projects
• Sell DaLaa T-shirts

Member fee

The member fee is used for:

• The making and distributing of MaD
• Organizing member activities and seminars

Members living in Thailand pay 150 Baht per year
Members living abroad pay 500 Baht per year (because of the sending costs)
